The Nasscom after a survey, has revealed that 68,000 young men and women come out of the 209 Engineering Colleges every year just in Karnataka as graduate engineers and it further stated that only 25% of them are found to be employable. Prominent reason for this is most of our engineering graduates lack the skills required for the jobs that are available especially in the corporate sector. It is in this background a team of engineering graduates have formed an institution called iQuest to train and prepare fresh graduates as Corporate ready professionals through its Employability Enhancement Program (EEP).
EEP is a comprehensive and customized training covering the entire gamut of soft skills, technical knowledge and process awareness to varied stream of learners from engineering and non-engineering graduates to graduating students. The modules and course content are professionally designed and structured to enable every participant to acquire employability skills as per corporate requirements and to help them to perform at their best.
The iquest as part of its CSR activity, is providing special courses to SC, ST and disabled persons at totally free of cost. One of the most unique and distinguishing features of iQuest is that it prepares students to clear the Employability Assessment Test (EAT) conducted by NASSCOM and AMCAT by virtue of which the participants may not be required to appear for the written test of the employing company. Another key distinguishing feature of iQuest is the preparation it provides for the foundation level certification offered by the iSTQB, the internationally recognized software testing certification for graduate candidates who want to take up software testing as a profession. Many industries have appreciated the training programme and they have also suggested certain training required by the industrial houses. Hence few days special course for industrial needs had also been included in the training. Thousands of youth have benefitted by the training programme and are well placed in different companies.
The institute has tie ups with several colleges to take these programs to students and equip them with the right skills to keep pace with changing industry needs, thereby enhancing the placements of the college. Colleges intend to provide soft skills to their students can approach Mr.Manjunath.
